Cloves are flower buds of the Clove tree, also known as Syzygium Aromaticum. The name come from Latin word Clavus that means Nail since the shape of a dried Clove remembers that of a Nail. Clove contains some amounts of an active component called Eugenol.

Clove spice originating in India has a great history behind it during the 13th and 14th centuries; Clove was transported all the way from Indonesia to India, China, Africa and Europe. Clove is mostly applied directly to the gums for toothache, pain control during dental work, and other dental-related issues.
